Well, I have even higher hopes for 2016 as we continue to develop and refine the group. In 2015, we basically built up the group through mixer events. In 2016, we will also implement social events, educational/guest speaker events, a Road Rally, as well as continuing mixers and community service events. Each of these events works towards our vision and mission for the #YoPros group.
In 2016, we are also starting to accept sponsorships for various events! For sponsorship information, contact Gina Rieck at (586) 731-5400 ext. 15 or send her an email!
Am I #YoPro Material?
Still, the most frequently asked question is, “Am I too old to be a #YoPro? I’m more of an ‘Old Pro’!” Clever! Here’s why there is NOT an age limit on the #YoPros group… Many of you have a market that includes young professionals. Does your business, product or service cater to other young professionals? If yes, you are more than welcome to attend our events! Plus, we have a lot of fun!
If you have any ideas for mixer events, social events, educational topics, or community service opportunities, please contact myself (Briana) at (586) 731-5400 ext. 11 or shoot me an email with your ideas and suggestions! We will also be putting together a committee to help plan the June Road Rally so if you’re interested in helping out, please let me know!
This Thursday, you are welcome to join the #YoPros group at the Fowling Warehouse for our first social event! At 6 p.m., you can check-in, network, and eat pizza. We will have the Fowling Lanes from 7 – 9 p.m. This event will be a cash bar. A special shout-out goes to our Lane Sponsors: Blackfinn Ameripub (Clinton Township) and Flagstar Bank (Chesterfield). Click here to register for this Thursday’s Fowling Social!
Q: What is Fowling, you may ask?
A: In short, it’s throwing a football at bowling pins. But you’re caged in with 100 other people who might accidentally knock your opponent’s pins over! Trust me, it’s much harder than it looks and sounds! It’s a game of hilarious chaos, so get ready for a night of laughter and fun!
In March, we will host our first educational / networking event. Save the date for March 23rd at Circa 1901 (formerly Hatchey’s) in downtown Utica. This topic is going to help all of those Young Professionals who haven’t quite yet learned HOW to network, or might be a little intimidated walking into a room of 100+ business professionals and not knowing where to start. Our speaker, Keith Stonehouse (Franklin Title Agency), will present “Work Smarter, Not Harder: The 5 Pillars of Business Networking Success.” Stay tuned for more information!
I am absolutely overwhelmed with the amount of support and success this group has had so far and I look forward to seeing what 2016 has in store for the #YoPros group!
See you Thursday! :)
