1. Traditional + Non-Traditional Networking:
In a world where we are becoming more and more focused on instant and constant communication, we have found it is necessary to accommodate both. Whether you need a quick email reminder of what’s going on in the Chamber that month, a 140-character tweet or a Facebook status update, we are here for you. But because we are here for you and your small business, we also love to focus on traditional networking events.
Now if you’re part of the millennial generation, face-to-face networking may intimidate you. But we’ve learned that having networking events for small business owners in the area to get together and break bread has been truly helpful for them to grow. Sometimes it’s not what you know, but whom you know. The more people you meet and network with, the more your business will expand and flourish.
2. Community Involvement:
Getting involved in the Chamber gives you a direct way to get involved in your community. Whether you’re giving back to the community or attending a local business ribbon cutting, you’re putting your face out into the public and promoting your business.
We offer seven different committees that you can join as a small business owner. These programs are Ambassadors, Board of Directors, BRAG Groups (we currently have 16!), Non-Profit Focus Group, Public Policy and Small Business Round Table, Tourism and Hospitality and Women Business Owners Alliance. Most recently, we’ve started a building network/focus group for local manufacturers. Through these committees you will be able to connect and network with other members and business owners in the community.
We offer events that are open to both members and the community and also member-only events. These events include anything and everything from Lunch and Learns, The Grub Crawl to events that are strictly for networking. We are always keeping our member’s interests and businesses in mind.
5. Publicity Exposure + Promotions:
With an SHRCCI chamber membership, you have the opportunity to sponsor events and purchase advertisements from our website to help promote your business.
6. Bring Credibility To Your Business:
Studies by The Shapiro Group have shown that consumers are more likely to do business with those who are members of the local Chamber of Commerce. It’s a great label to have, to be part of and help brand yourself with.
7. Access To Members-Only Discounts and Services:
Being a Chamber member is like an exclusive little club for many, many people. Businesses that are part of the Chamber love the expression, “If you scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours”.
